Overview
The Charter School of Wilmington is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to teach AP Statistics, AP Calculus, Math 1 (Algebra 1 content), Math 2 (Algebra 2 content). The assignment will begin on August 24, 2026 and is anticipated to continue until early spring 2027. Dates are tentative and may be adjusted based on staffing and leave schedules. There is also the potential for this position to transition into a full-time teaching opportunity for the 2027-2028 school year, contingent upon staffing needs and successful completion of the school's hiring process.
As the long-term substitute math teacher, you will deliver high-quality instruction by implementing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. You will collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to examine student learning, identify successes and opportunities for growth, and ensure students fulfill their academic and personal potential.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in secondary education with a concentration in math or Bachelor's Degree in Math with education certification. Master's Degree preferred.

Salary
Salary will be computed in accordance with the credentials of the individual selected. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
Notes
Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results from a criminal background check, Delaware Child Protection Registry check, and tuberculin (TB) test, as well as verification that the individual holds all required licensure and certifications for the position. All requirements must be completed and cleared prior to the employee's start date.
