Job description

The Director of Instruction for K-2 (South or North Florida) is for someone who is able to visit the BridgePrep Academy campuses in Florida.

Student Achievement Metrics
  • 90% of Pre-K-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.
  • 85% of 1st-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading and language.
  • 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement core academic program model for grade levels K-2 across the organization, so that leaders can articulate program rationale and strategically plan for student success
  • Write and communicate content-specific academic and instructional policies for Florida
  • Lead the district-wide implementation of K-2 content
  • Lead a high-performing curriculum team to select, design, create and distribute high quality curriculum products each school year.
  • Monitor progress toward goals with check-ins, strategy and quarterly meetings so that course leaders meet at least 80% of their individual goals
  • Create and execute individualized professional development plans and budgets for course leaders
  • Manage team to design and deliver curriculum materials, including comprehensive lesson plans, unit plans, and a full suite of assessments so that the team collectively meets or exceeds 0% of their individual goals.
  • Create, edit and refine assessments so that unit, Semester, and Mock exams are completed with less than 8 combined errors.
  • Evaluate the quality of the curriculum materials using a research-based evaluation tool
  • Increase student achievement results to achieve an A-Rated district
  • Lead a high performing curriculum team to design, support and evaluate teacher-facing professional development and support services that is highly rated by 90% of participants, including curriculum collaboration sessions, content webinars, and curriculum development sessions.
  • Work with the Chief of Academics to create a robust teacher onboarding program during beginning of the year teacher training to increase new teacher effectiveness in executing the district curriculum years so that 85% of new teachers return the following school year.
  • Analyze student achievement results, identify trends and communicate course corrections to support improvement to meet student achievement goals
  • Lead the team to analyze student achievement data
  • Facilitate quarterly data analysis/data sharing with various stakeholders to highlight student achievement, professional development participation and feedback and teacher observation data
  • Conduct regular campus observations with team members and school leaders to provide explicit feedback and next steps on curriculum implementation so that the district achieves the District A Rating.
  • Lead, attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings and monthly strategy meetings
  • Conduct weekly campus observations within the region- travel is expected 50-75% of the time

Qualifications and Experience
  • An earned bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

  • A strong record of results as a curriculum writer or system-wide administrator
