What We Look For In a IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation Tutor
  • Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of IB Mathematics Applications and Interpretation curriculum covering number and algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, statistics and probability, and calculus with emphasis on modeling and technology use. Ability to explain statistical tests, Voronoi diagrams, and mathematical modeling techniques while preparing students for IB examinations and the internal assessment project.
  • Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and technology-based problem-solving for IB AI. Guides students through regression analysis, hypothesis testing, graph theory applications, optimization problems, and Voronoi diagram construction. Emphasizes real-world applications and effective use of GDC and statistical software, developing skills for the Internal Assessment mathematical modeling project.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with IB Mathematics AI syllabus for SL and HL and common challenges such as statistical test selection, modeling real-world scenarios, and structuring the IA project. Adapts instruction using past IB examination papers, technology-based activities, and IA modeling guidance to support IB students at Standard and Higher Levels preparing for examinations and the mathematical modeling assessment.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
