Public Health Nursing here blends clinical skill with community outreach, making a direct, visible impact on the lives of individuals and families throughout southern Wyoming. In this role, you'll collaborate with residents, schools, healthcare providers, and local organizations to assess health needs, deliver vital services, and connect people to life-saving resources.

Conduct nursing assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and evaluations in line with ANA's Public Health Nursing Standards. Arrange and lead community health clinics and health education classes. Support public health core functions, prioritizing services that meet community needs.

Administer adult and child vaccines, provide STI/HIV testing, manage TB testing, and more. Provide Ryan White case management, maternal and child home visitation, lactation counseling, and LT-101 reviews. Collaborate with the nurse manager and public health response coordinator on emergency preparedness activities.

Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: **Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming. **Driver's license required. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing.

Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations. Knowledge of principles of the nursing process and the scientific process. Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care.

Knowledge of scientific concepts as a basis for decision-making. Knowledge of physical, biological, and behavioral sciences. Knowledge of evaluation services and programs according to standards.

Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice. Knowledge of federal, state, and local law pertaining to healthcare. Knowledge of public health core functions and essential services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Nursing with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience Nursing with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to: Lift/transfer patients to different positions. Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs. Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, and drive long distances.

Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested. Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it. NOTES: FLSA: Non-Exempt The Wyoming Department of Health is an E-Verify employer.

A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for every successful applicant. Hiring Bonus eligibility and conditions New state employees and temporary employees accepting a permanent position Current state employees accepting a promotional opportunity - recruitment must have been open to the public. One year of service in the position must be completed.

Failure to complete this requirement will require reimbursement of the bonus with the funds deducted from the final pay. Internal candidates will be required to remain in the position for a minimum of (1) year from the promotion date. Employees will only be eligible for (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
