Job description

Process Engineer - This position supports safety and the day-to-day operations of the paper machines, as well as maintenance, reliability, productivity, capital implementation and continuous improvement.
This position assists in managing the team, daily work backlogs and juggling the daily schedule. It also includes planning shutdown work, safety training, root cause failure analysis, design improvements, and other project management critical to achieving OME of the paper department. Adapts to the changing business needs, provides assistance and direction to coworkers and subordinates.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Support, develop, and implement safety procedures and policies
  • Help manage day to day operations and coordinate with maintenance
  • Help manage raw materials with the day-to-day grade schedule on the paper machines
  • Machine downtime support
  • Support implementing process and procedure changes
  • Own and implement continuous improvement projects including process development, capital project development and implementation, cost reduction projects to support Safety, Acceptance, and Availability

Internally: General Management/Leadership communication skills (written and verbal) with all team members
Externally: General Management/Leadership communication skills (written and verbal) with vendors, customers, and external team members as
  • Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Paper Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in paper manufacturing operations
  • Strong cost savings awareness and ability of continuous improvement
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Required Competencies: Good written and verbal communication skills as well as teamwork skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
