Job description

The Operations Manager holds the key role of overseeing the efficient day-to-day management, administration, and reporting of all business activities. This includes but is not limited to planning, budgeting, scheduling, delivery, inventory management, and safety. The aim is to streamline existing processes, boosting operational efficiency while fostering employee success. It's imperative for the Operations Manager to maintain and enhance the organization's service levels and values.


Responsibilities:

  • Navigate operational challenges adeptly, prioritizing effective communication internally and ensuring top-notch service delivery to customers.
  • Manage inventory levels in the yard and handle damaged inventory appropriately.
  • Supervise monthly cycle counting and closing procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding financial operations such as volume buying and selling, profit margins, and P&L statements.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety policies among delivery personnel both in the warehouse and at job sites.
  • Conduct regular safety reviews in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of warehouse and yard areas.
  • Manage the full-cycle delivery process, including removal of damaged materials, accurate stocking of orders, and coordination with relevant managers.
  • Maintain transparent communication with customers, promptly addressing any issues related to orders and delivery.
  • Monitor material deliveries from other yards, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon timelines.
  • Coordinate daily activities of team members, motivating them to achieve productivity, teamwork, safety, and quality goals.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to maximize productivity and cultivate an inclusive environment.
  • Develop and refine performance plans, seeking continuous process improvements.
  • Uphold service level requirements throughout operations.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong team player and leader with excellent communication skills
  • Preferred experience and knowledge in the building materials or construction industry
  • Prior distribution experience is advantageous
