Materials Manager

We are seeking a Materials Manager to join the team at Kemira's chemical manufacturing facility in Marietta, GA.  With safety as the first priority, this on-site position directs the Materials department, providing leadership and establishing priorities for the team in alignment with Kemira strategy and objectives.  By creating and sustaining a positive work environment, the Materials Manager helps the team achieve results that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Strong, frequent presence in the plant to implement a safety and customer-focused culture in the Materials department
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, DOT / FRA and DHS standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with site Production & Quality departments and corporate Supply Chain to schedule and execute raw material receipts and product shipments
  • Maintain raw material and finished goods inventory targets
  • Organize and manage on-site warehouses
  • Oversee warehouse shipping / receiving with emphasis on accuracy, efficiency & timeliness
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Procurement teams to source raw materials and packaging to maximize production and capacity efficiency
  • Hire, train and develop employees to achieve their maximum potential
  • Control department costs
  • Enter and maintain relevant SAP parameters for products and raw materials

What you'll bring to the team: 

  • College degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Materials Management / logistics
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused role
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Extensive SAP experience, especially in warehouse-related transactions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Forklift / industrial truck experience preferred

The starting salary range for consideration for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 per year with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The actual starting salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant employment history & experience, skill set/competencies, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs.  We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid time off, life/disability insurance and a 401k retirement plan (which includes a company match).
