Position Summary: As our Materials Manager, you are responsible for the strategic alignment, flow, and optimization of materials from key supply partners into the operational pipeline. Rather than executing transactional procurement, this role focuses on cultivating deep, collaborative partnerships with the site's procurement team to synchronize demand forecasting, proactively manage lead times, and guarantee optimal inventory availability.
As the vital link between external supply networks and internal operations, the Materials Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle of goods. This includes directing the strategic planning, shipment, and receipt of all incoming and outgoing materials, parts, and products, as well as governing the secure storage, inventory control, and efficient internal distribution across the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in materials control
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience managing, training, and developing teams, specifically supervising warehouse, shipping, and planning personnel.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, material requirements planning (MRP/ERP systems), shipping and receiving protocols, and coordinating physical audits.
  • Experience developing, tracking, and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to optimize operational efficiency and inventory turns.substantial background and practical application within Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) along with Strategy/Operations Execution (SOE) methodologies.
  • Strong familiarity with reading and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and collaborating directly with engineering teams on product configurations
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Specifically, you will oversee, train, and develop a dedicated team of planners, warehouse, and shipping personnel to ensure high performance and career growth. Strategically, you will manage inventory levels to align with customer demand and corporate turn objectives, maintaining system accuracy, executing obsolete inventory disposal, and partnering with Finance to conduct physical inventories. Your operational oversight will span all shipping, receiving, and storage activities-ensuring incoming and outgoing order accuracy, optimizing component and finished goods storage, and collaborating with planning departments to schedule critical material deliveries. Finally, you will serve as the key departmental liaison with engineering on product configurations and bills of materials, while establishing and monitoring key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement across all your areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate by prioritizing operational excellence by collaborating across all departments. This leadership role involves guiding by example, exhibiting empathy, ensuring task ownership, leveraging data to drive decisions, and consistently putting the customer first.
