Responsibilities:

We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Materials Manager to oversee materials planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory control functions. This position leads a cross-functional team and is responsible for driving efficient, cost-effective materials operations that support business objectives and customer expectations. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, data-driven leader who is committed to supply chain excellence and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and operational advancement.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor team members by providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting ongoing professional growth to align with evolving business demands.
  • Materials Planning & Coordination: Partner with manufacturing teams and customers to coordinate production schedules, manage transportation logistics, and ensure appropriate inventory levels to meet demand.
  • Systems & Reporting: Design, implement, and uphold processes that ensure accurate, timely reporting of materials-related data.
  • Supplier Management: Manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance tracking and participate in program management initiatives as required.
  • Procurement & Inventory Control: Oversee the timely acquisition of production and service materials while monitoring inventory accuracy through cycle counts and adherence to company targets.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities and lead efforts to enhance processes and reduce costs across materials operations.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor Key Operating Indicators (KOIs) to evaluate departmental performance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Packaging & Logistics Oversight: Direct packaging and freight activities, including premium freight, routing strategies, and compliance with customer packaging standards such as CLIPS.
  • PFEP Management: Maintain and review the Plan for Every Part (PFEP), ensuring proper Min/Max inventory levels are established and sustained across all facilities.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all processes are well-documented and aligned with company policies, including emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Other Duties: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Schedule/Shift Details: Day shift

  • Overtime as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Bailed Material Operation materials management, including direct team supervision, ideally within the automotive sector.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Owned Material Operation materials management, with a strong track record of leadership, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access) and materials management systems such as Trans4M.
  • Working knowledge of departmental procedures and standards related to materials operations.
  • Professional certifications such as CPIM, CPM, or APP are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication capabilities.
  • Multilingual skills are considered an asset.
