Join a financially stable, debt-free industry leader specializing in industrial refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and structural metal fabrication systems. With an average employee tenure of 7–10 years and continued growth across Wisconsin, the company is expanding its engineering team.

Reporting to the Director of HVAC/Plumbing Business Development, you'll work closely with sales, estimating, and fabrication teams to develop custom HVAC solutions while building strong client relationships. This role offers excellent long-term growth potential into Lead Engineer, Chief Engineer, or Engineering Manager positions.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
  • Analyze customer inquiries to investigate localized commercial and industrial HVAC needs, determine project scope, and propose technical design solutions.
  • Design custom HVAC systems for diverse facilities including offices, laboratories, manufacturing spaces, and industrial warehouses.
  • Execute mechanical engineering calculations, including heating and cooling load calculations, air distribution layout, boiler/chiller systems design, pump and piping design, and steam system routing.
  • Develop schematic designs and CAD drawings during the inquiry phase to help estimating staff establish labor and material costs.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates using computerized estimation programs and secure equipment quotes from vendors.
  • Draft technical proposal letters detailing project descriptions, scope of work, assumptions, and cost estimates to present directly to clients.
  • Coordinate construction drawings and arrange state/local plan reviews as appropriate.
  • Support cross-functional teams including industrial ventilation, service, and heavy refrigeration departments with engineering expertise.
  • Mentor and guide junior design engineers and engineering interns on Lean workflow practices.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Registered Professional Engineer (PE), or a licensed HVAC Designer.
  • 3+ years of HVAC engineering experience, ideally working within a fast-paced mechanical contractor environment.
  • Strong technical software proficiency including AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional industry credentials such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED AP accreditation are highly desirable.
  • High comfort level in customer-facing roles with a natural aptitude for presenting technical designs and collaborating directly with building owners and project managers.
  • Physical ability to perform site walkthroughs, including climbing, crawling, and physical movement necessary to inspect overhead mechanical systems.
  • A valid driver's license and clean record for local client travel (preferred commute within 1 hour of the Fox Valley area).
