Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo, Beneful, Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Friskies, Purina ONE, and Pro Plan. Our factory also does its part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta-an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.

As Materials Manager you'll lead the planning, inventory, and supplier management activities that ensure uninterrupted production at our manufacturing facility. You'll maintain material availability, manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory levels, and lead a team that supports the flow of raw materials into the plant.

  • Lead materials management activities to ensure raw materials and ingredients are available to support production requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels while balancing service, cost, and working capital objectives.
  • Partner with internal procurement teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and develop strong supplier relationships to support business objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier agreements, pricing, and material-related issues as needed.
  • Analyze market trends, inventory data, and material costs to identify savings opportunities and improve performance.
  • Partner with operations and planning teams to support production schedules and material requirements.
  • Develop, coach, and lead team members while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to support planning, purchasing, and reporting activities.
**To support our around-the-clock manufacturing environment, candidates should be comfortable working outside of normal business hours on occasion to address operational priorities and support the factory team**
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of materials management, supply chain, inventory control, production planning, procurement, logistics, or warehouse operations experience within a manufacturing, distribution, military, or related environment.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience

The approximate yearly pay range for this position is $95,000 - $133,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
