Material Handler opening in Johnson City TN
Pay Rate: $19.50/hr
The Material Handling/Inventory Control position will support production efficiency by ensuring that materials and supplies are delivered to workstations in a timely and organized manner. This position is essential to maintaining inventory accuracy, continuous workflow, and minimizing downtime on the production floor.
Job Responsibilities of the Material Handler
Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods between storage areas and production lines using carts, forklifts, or other equipment.
Responsible for managing Inventory. Monitoring inventory levels at workstations, raw material inventory locations, finished goods, and replenishing as needed to prevent shortages. Ensure inventory transactions are correct in NetSuite.
Inventory Counts: conduct cycle counts as required to ensure inventory accuracy.
Maintain and follow visual signals (Work orders, bins, etc.) to ensure timely restocking and material flow.
Accurately record and/or transact material movements, shortages, and issues using digital or paper logs.
Coordinate with all departments to prioritize material needs and respond to changes in demand.
Conduct inspections, audits and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
Identify defects and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Train other employees or run production as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
