The Electrical Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development of components, small systems, quality systems, processes or materials.
This role in summary
The Senior Engineer, Product Testing, will utilize engineering principles to establish functional tests for manufactured appliances. They will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that Whirlpool delivers World Class Quality appliances to customers.
Your responsibilities will include
  • Manages testing process to ensure comprehensive documentation and coverage of unit functional test requirements
  • Works across multiple appliance categories to ensure best practices are consistently applied to all functional test methods.
  • Follows Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) defined process to ensure vertical startup and world class quality for all new product introductions.
  • Provides Testing Engineer coverage for Findlay, OH Operations and across any category to ensure timely project delivery during high demand periods or extended absences (sabbatical, paternity leave, sick leave, etc).
  • Document and upkeep of the comprehensive test process for engineers to follow to ensure best practices, stakeholder involvement and all deliverables are met.
  • Interfaces with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams to coordinate all priorities into test methods.
  • Supports day-to-day operations by providing technical expertise in manufacturing based testing processes.
  • Provides input into new equipment acquisition projects to ensure all testing equipment is consistent and capable of required functionality.

Minimum requirements
  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Computer Science, or Technology)
  • 3+ years experience in technical manufacturing implementation and execution
  • Experience with electronic equipment and testing functions

Preferred skills and experiences
  • Software Programming Experience (Python, SQL, Java, Angular, HTML, CSS)
  • PLC programming experience with Rockwell or Siemens software (Studio 5000 and TIA Portal)
  • Experience with statistical processes for data driven decision-making (ANOVA, MSA, SPC)
  • Experience with servers & data storage (SQL, Ignition, OPC)
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a high level of motivation and productivity without direct supervision
