Job description

Sr Associate Supply Chain I (Procurement)Responsibilities
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve procurement processes for Amgen North Carolina (ANC).
  • Implement supply chain systems/processes; acquire materials and manage inventory (levels, lead times, safety stock) to prevent stockouts and minimize waste.
  • Perform supply planning and raw material procurement; manage supplier/customer relationships.
  • Procure via SAP/Rapid Response/Ariba; generate/expedite/update purchase orders, blanket orders, vendor-managed inventory, and other supply agreements.
  • Build raw material inventory plans; monitor demand/supply variability and adjust min/max/kanban processes.
  • Release forecasts/orders to suppliers; analyze/consolidate/report supply vs. demand.
  • Maintain cGMP-compliant purchasing documentation and support receipt scheduling/testing.
  • Lead small projects and support larger cross-functional teams; track monthly performance metrics and resolve complicated issues.
  • Partner with Manufacturing/Process Development/Engineering to develop specs; lead changes in ownership of GMP materials/systems/processes/suppliers.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school/GED + 4 years OR Associate's + 2 years OR Bachelor's + 6 months OR Master's.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
  • Math/science/engineering (incl. data science); supply chain/inventory management expertise.
  • Experience with single-use biotech/healthcare inventories; SAP/Excel proficiency.
  • cGMP knowledge; raw material qualification knowledge.
  • Operation Excellence (OE); strong analytics/data/optimization; communication/issue resolution.
  • Ability to influence/negotiate; self-motivated; project management skills.
