It is servicing the growth needs of the U.S. power generating fleet to comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations in a cost-effective way.
CORMETECH has fully dedicated, state-of-the art manufacturing facilities, research and development centers and testing laboratories in Charlotte (NC), Cleveland (TN), Durham (NC), and Kings Mountain (NC).

Summary:
The R&D Technician will work to advance CORMETECH technology in carbon capture and environmental catalysis, through the synthesis and performance testing of various materials.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out testing on analytical equipment, small scale to pilot size reactors, and benchtop chemistry work.
• Follow SOPs and Safety procedures of laboratory
• Obtain, analyze, and report testing data using lab instruments
• Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance plan actions on the instruments
• Support the synthesis of catalyst material samples for testing evaluations
• Collaborate with other scientists/engineers on development projects
• Maintain clean working space in the laboratory
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Other duties / projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a science, engineering, or technical field.

• Strong Safety focus.
• Experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory using analytical instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong critical thinking skills
  • Windows / Microsoft Office knowledge with an emphasis on Excel

• Ability to work independently, but collaboratively with Development Team
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Previous experience with analytical instrumentation (TGA, DSC, FTIR, MS)
  • Background in wet chemistry procedures, including solution synthesis, serial dilutions, and preparation of reagents for experimental workflows
  • Knowledge of reaction monitoring, sample collection, and data analysis from laboratory-scale reactor systems
