Job description

Bennett Aerospace Inc. , a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization to support research and development efforts in advanced ecological and biological applications, including gene silencing technologies for invasive species control. The Senior Scientist will design and execute laboratory experiments, analyze results, and contribute to the development of reproducible scientific methods that directly support customer research initiatives. Position Responsibilities: * Lead the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles, including Mg-Al-lactate layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and related materials. * Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments to support applied research in gene silencing and environmental biotechnology. * Perform advanced materials characterization using relevant instrumentation (e.g., XRD, TEM/SEM, FTIR, BET). * Analyze, interpret, and document experimental results, ensuring methods are reproducible and defensible for peer review. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, chemists, and engineers, to apply nanomaterials to ecological and environmental challenges. * Prepare technical data, figures, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. * Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and technical documentation. Position Requirements: * PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field. * Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in nanoparticle synthesis, laboratory research, and materials characterization. * Demonstrated expertise in laboratory techniques relevant to nanoparticle development and analysis. * Strong track record of scientific publications, research documentation, or technical reporting. * Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with ecological, biological, or environmental applications of nanotechnology. * Prior experience developing reproducible protocols and contributing to peer-reviewed publications.
