Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Production Planning to join our growing team at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segments Missile Solutions Sector Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) located in Huntsville, AL.  In this role, you will be part of our Scheduling and Material Planning organization which plays a key role from proposal to product delivery company wide. We are looking for a highly analytical, self-motivated, and organized individual that has a high level of ability to assess requirements and make data driven decisions.  Candidates will work in a dynamic position and interface directly with Internal and External customers across a diverse product range. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Review Material Requirements Plan (MRP); problem-solve exception messages.
  • Release Supplier Requisitions and Shop Orders for both Bill of Material (BOM) and independent demand requirements.
  • Identify and initiate Program Inventory Surplus/Close Out.
  • Analyze program demand, create requisitions, maintain horizontal plan or help maintain line of balance for consumable items, initiate material transfers, create new Part Numbers, and other as required tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with Integrated Product Team (IPT) to address issues, problem solve and strategize to ensure we are meeting our customer commitments.  
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the specific program efforts.
  • Tavel: 5% business travel to other Aerojet Rocketdyne facilities and suppliers across the country.
  • Ability to work extended hours based on manufacturing business needs. 
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior production planning experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior production planning experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior production planning experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Technical knowledge of solid rocket propulsion, explosive and pyrotechnic devices, electromechanical actuators and actuator control systems.
  • Oracle, Delmia or Windchill experience.
  • Ability to implement product design and development stage gate process (reviews for design, build, and test).
  • Ability to use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate plans, processes and results of the supporting team.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, strong leadership skills, and interpreting program management, engineering and supplier demands in a continuously changing environment with minimal guidance.
  • Working knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting and earned value management.
  • Experience with team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project objectives.
  • Experience in leading, encouraging, reviewing and critiquing work of supporting team members to maximize program success.
  • Capable of defining and negotiating task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for specific and broad activities as well. 
  • Working capability in the use of office computer programs such as MS PowerPoint (presentations, logic diagrams), MS Project (basic scheduling), MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), and MS Word (tables, program plans).
