Job description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Launch Material Planner. This role is responsible for coordinating new part introductions and engineering changes, managing supply planning activities, and supporting successful product launch execution. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between program teams, material planning, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure launch readiness and supply chain continuity.

Job Duties
  • Lead coordination of new part introductions and engineering changes for launch and new product programs
  • Partner with Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to align supplier lead times and launch schedules
  • Analyze BOM and MBOM data to support accurate demand planning and material requirements
  • Manage engineering change implementation activities, including runout reporting and BOM effectivity tracking
  • Track launch readiness milestones and provide status updates on implementation timelines
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time and in-full material delivery performance
  • Maintain and validate material planning data within ERP systems to support launch activities
  • Coordinate communication across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and other business functions
  • Monitor launch risks and escalate issues impacting program timelines
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and KPI performance tracking
Skills & ExperienceRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of experience in material planning, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
  • 2+ years of project or program management experience
  • Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI) or engineering change management processes
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Experience with demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management processes
  • Ability to analyze BOM and MBOM structures for planning and material requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
Desired
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise ERP platforms
  • Automotive manufacturing or high-volume production experience
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools
  • Experience maintaining ERP master data and material planning parameters
  • Familiarity with engineering change control processes
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on material readiness and launch activities
  • Exposure to 3DX or related product development systems
