Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, serving as a positive role model for employees.
  • Ensure the Materials environment aligns with Viwincoโ€™s Core Tenets and Production System.
  • Manage escalation processes for issues related to safety, quality, maintenance, and human resources.
  • Utilize effective managerial and interpersonal skills, including communication, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Conduct process audits, including safety, standard work, start-of-shift, and end-of-shift checks.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and enforce adherence to 5S principles in Materials areas.
  • Ensure all areas remain organized and clean to support a productive working environment.
  • Coordinate and deliver training for new employees and cross-training for existing employees.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of Standard Work.
  • Oversee daily responsibilities of the assigned Material Handlers.
  • Adjust staffing daily to account for absenteeism.
  • Serve as a liaison between Materials employees, quality teams, and production staff.
  • Navigate Materials applications and take appropriate action to maintain material flow.
  • Collect data and contribute to report-outs on performance metrics.
  • Conduct inventory procedures and WIP (Work in Progress) counts at month-end.
  • Provide clear shift handover communication between first and second shifts.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, training, and coaching abilities.
  • Experience with Standard Work, 5S, and process auditing.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Capability to lift and handle objects weighting up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable and skilled in the use of software applications and scanning systems.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train in multiple roles to support business needs.
