Position Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for executing all on-site logistics operations at Bolder Industries' Terre Haute (TH) plant, including inbound feedstock coordination, outbound finished goods shipments, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective material flow while supporting production uptime and customer delivery commitments.
The Material Handler will execute processes and systems, and participate in continuous improvement activities across TH.
This day shift position reports directly to the Operations and Logistics Manager at TH.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Compliance & Sustainability
- Comply with all safety regulations, including OSHA and DOT requirementsย
- Enforce safe loading/unloading and material handling practicesย
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements related to material transport and storageย
- Support sustainability objectives through efficient logistics and waste reductionย
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Coordinate inbound deliveries of feedstock materials (e.g., end-of-life tires) to support uninterrupted plant operationsย
- Manage outbound logistics for recovered carbon black (rCB), oil, and steel shipmentsย
- Schedule and optimize freight, working closely with carriers and third-party logistics providersย
- Monitor transportation costs, service levels, and on-time performanceย
Warehouse & Inventory Control
- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, staging, and shippingย
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goodsย
- Execute inventory control processes (cycle counts, audits, reconciliation)ย
- Ensure proper material handling and storage practicesย
Systems & Process Development
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics activitiesย
- Support KPIs and reporting dashboards (inventory accuracy, freight cost per ton, on-time delivery, etc.)ย
- Serve as a team member in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.ย
Qualifications
Required
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operationsย
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy operations environmentsย
- Knowledge of transportation, freight, and inventory managementย
- Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulationsย
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsย
Preferred
- Experience in startup or high-growth plant environmentsย
- Background in recycling, sustainability, or circular economy industriesย
- Lean / Six Sigma experienceย
- Experience managing bulk materials or commodities logisticsย
