Job Description

Job Summary: The Material Handler ensures inventory control management and warehouse operations for environmental services facilities, handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials safely, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments of goods, often using forklifts or other equipment to unload trucks and other delivery vehicles.
  • They verify that the items received match the accompanying documentation.
  • They may also inspect items for damage before moving them to designated storage areas.
  • Maintains accurate, neat and complete records of all calibration/operation logs and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
  • Use warehouse management systems for inventory tracking
  • Receipt, storage, issue and stock control of materials in the warehouse
  • Maintains all reagent and chemical inventory in the calibration room
  • Assist Material buyer in cycle count, blind and yearly inventory
  • Receiving, issuing parts listed for plant and field use.
  • Responsible for stocking spill kits, fire locker and housekeeping of waste management areas.
  • Responsible for rebuilding, testing all configurations of Cla-Vals and dosing pumps
  • Handling of potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Responsible for all hazardous chemical storage areas, deliveries, tank levels and dilutions during the shift.
  • Material handlers follow safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.
  • They may also perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • They maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that loading and docking areas are clear.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required:

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience and knowledge of warehouse management, forklift operation and/or resins and water treatment experience.

Preferred:

  • AS Degree in Business or Supply Chain
  • Warehouse Management knowledge

Working Conditions

  • Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
  • Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
