Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for performing tasks involving the shipping and receiving of food products..

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Pay - $17.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Operating standup forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks in a safe manner

  • Accurate and timely selecting of customers’ orders

  • Accurately completing work order sheets.

  • Working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed.

  • Unload trucks and validate deliveries against appropriate documentation and notify supervisor or FSQ of discrepancies.

  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.

  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.

  • Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation and location of shipment.

  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse.

  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).

  • Cleaning and maintaining warehouse floor and facilities as needed.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

  • Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.

Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of warehouse and lift trucks experience.

  • 1+ Months related manufacturing or food experience, preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, materials, and/or Manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of SAP.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

  • Excellent attendance and dependability.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail

  • Work well with others

  • Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must work effectively with others.
