Job description

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Be a 6S best-practice example that enables all other job aspects and models behavior for other associates
  • Responsible for ensuring that barrel plated products are manufactured to meet the highest standards of quality
  • Reading and following WOID (work instructions) with discipline, every time
  • Reacting quickly regarding the escalation policy and reaction limits to mitigate long running quality issues
  • Continuous quality sampling and thickness measurements using designated measurement instrumentation
  • Understanding customer specific quality requirements before inspecting work
  • Understanding shiftly load targets and the effects of OEE (Original Equipment Effectiveness) upon performance
  • Enabling efficient line startups and shutdowns that maximize OEE
  • Performing shiftly preventive maintenance on production barrels and local station equipment
  • Using machine data (process output) to analyze production results and identify areas for improvement
  • Troubleshooting production problems, in general, in support of Maintenance, Process, and Quality technicians
  • Collaborating with other members of the production team

OTHER:

  • Understanding how to utilize Material Handlers for timely delivery of next production material
  • Ensuring that material FIFO (First in First Out) is maintained to support customer delivery commitments
  • Executing the quality Reject process flawlessly, every time
  • Hourly capture of relevant OEE data that supports accurate and valuable shift report authoring
  • Ensuring that all safety protocols are met and adhered to by all associates
  • Sending Maintenance and Quality Alerts through the ZincIt ERP system
  • As required by the Team Leader, support high quality training on new associates
  • Emergency procedures as trained by the Safety and HR teams (i.e. Fire extinguisher use
