Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Location: Sandston, VA
Pay Rate: $16.00/hr

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and distribution operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift, handling materials, and supporting shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate and efficient workflow.

The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution, material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory control, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse and production facility
  • Perform material handling duties including transporting raw materials and finished goods to designated locations
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy during inbound and outbound shipments
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, and quality compliance
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock organization to maintain accurate warehouse records
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse distribution environment
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and shipping goals
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and warehouse operating policies

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a forklift operator, material handler, or warehouse associate in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in shipping and receiving, inventory management, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift (certification preferred but not required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
