Job description

Warehouse Associate

Assist in the picking and sorting of product cases within an automated warehouse environment by operating and supporting the Horizontal Case Dispenser (HCD) system, placing cases onto designated conveyor lanes, and utilizing computer systems and equipment while adhering to all safety procedures in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee will be working on a raised platform called the HCD (Horizontal Case Dispenser). This platform could be on one of three levels, with the third level being located at the top of two sets of stairs. Employee will be working in specified lanes to assist in placing cases of product on the conveyor belts in the specified lanes.
  • Assists and facilitates in case picking and sorting within the automated environment using computers, software, and complex machines while adhering to all established safety procedures and policies, multi-tasking, and making sound decisions in a noisy and time-sensitive environment.
  • Collaborates within a team environment to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
  • Adapts to needs of the role and maintains knowledge of working in different work areas throughout the workday while meeting the minimum expectations of those different work areas, including, but not limited to, HCD, Switch Platform, Manual picking and more as needed and as training is provided.
  • Assists in the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse, including keeping the work area free of trash and, or debris, as well as cleaning any type of spillage and following all waste removal and recycling protocols.
  • Works safely, accurately, and efficiently to control warehouse inventory to keep shrink at an acceptable level.
  • Performs miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of a warehouse in a dynamic environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Requires a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • At least 3 years' experience working in a warehouse distribution environment
  • Must have a valid NC Driver License
  • A good candidate must provide a good work history that demonstrates: leadership, dependability, integrity, attention to detail, self-motivated, excellent customer service and takes initiative
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to obtain a forklift license and operate manual/power pallet jacks, floor scrubber, and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds over shoulders occasionally
  • Ability to lift CO2 cylinders occasionally (up to 55 pounds)
  • Ability to push/pull product frequently
  • Ability to walk/stand/sit at least 8 hours/daily
  • Ability to work in fast paced work environment
  • Ability to pass the company background and Motor Vehicle Report check and the company drug testing requirements
