Inventory - Team Lead

An essential member of fulfillment center operations, the Inventory Control Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and organization of all inventory within the fulfillment center. This hands-on leadership role supports day-to-day inventory operations, leads a team of inventory associates, and partners with various departments to maintain efficient stock flow and resolution of discrepancies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to upholding high standards of accuracy and operational excellence.

This entry level leadership position is designed to train the "go-getter" to assume greater responsibility in our fast-growing company.

Location: Semmes, AL

Full-time: Non-exempt - Day Shift

Reports to: Inventory Control Supervisor

Essential Functions of the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

Achieves and maintains a high level of personal productivity consistently exceeding company established production standards and enables and inspires others to do so by:

  • Perform scheduled cycle counts to ensure that the physical count matches the data in the fulfillment center management system
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items to determine quantity on hand
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations. Conduct searches to locate lost inventory
  • Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and then take the necessary steps to resolve these issues
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to your supervisor
  • Conducting an informative "huddle meeting" at the start of every shift
  • Recognizing and celebrating outstanding team performance
  • Coaching performance and offering constructive feedback
  • Using various communication and leadership styles to motivate and encourage
  • Monitoring shift attendance and communicating this vital information to the shift supervisor
  • Promptly reporting accidents, near misses, and other safety concerns
  • Coordinating team break times
  • Continuously improving operations by removing obstacles to team and individual success
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift.
