Job description

Express Employment is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our metal fabrication team in Saint Croix Falls, WI. This critical role ensures the smooth flow of materials throughout our facility, from raw stock to finished goods, supporting our production and shipping operations. Shift: Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:15pm or Monday - Thursday 4:14pm-2:45am

Location: Osceola or Dresser Wi

Pay: $18-$22.50 An Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive & Inspect: Unload, inspect, and document incoming raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel) against purchase orders.
  • Organize & Store: Safely store materials, optimize warehouse space, and maintain accurate inventory using our ERP/MRP system.
  • Support Production: Pull, stage, and deliver raw materials and work-in-process (WIP) to various fabrication workstations (cutting, bending, welding, machining) to ensure continuous production.
  • Package & Ship: Move, inspect, package, label, and load finished goods for shipment according to customer specifications.
  • Operate Equipment: Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck), overhead cranes, and pallet jacks, performing daily inspections.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Safety First: Adhere strictly to all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, wearing required PPE.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally within metal fabrication or a similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to safely operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing slips and production schedules.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification highly preferred or required upon hire (company-provided training available).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Plex) for inventory tracking is a strong plus.
