MATERIAL HANDLER
INTRODUCTION

JOB SUMMARY
Material Handlers move recyclable material through the facility, conduct material grading and evaluate for sale destination. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
  • Moves material through the facility with the use of material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack, handcarts) as required.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Load compactors and trailers.
  • Operate baler.
  • Decontaminate containers prior to being placed in production.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Properly documents work performed.
  • Conducts material audits Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Power Equipment Experience Preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Listed below are key points regarding the physical requirements, and work environment of the job. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds frequently.
Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting to 50 lbs.
Normal setting for this job is in a waste building at a pharmaceutical facility. The environment may reflect weather conditions of heat or cold.
Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, most of the workday.
Note: The level of physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or less than documented here.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and background check. As well as a physical abilities test (PAT) prior to starting. WM and Eli Lilly.
PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Steel Toed Boots - WM will provide.
No open toed shoes
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or G.E.D and zero to four years' previous experience.
COMPENSATION: $18.50 P/H
