Job description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Materials Management Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a smooth and efficient supply chain within the hospital. Your responsibilities will include delivering supplies to various patient care areas, restocking essential items, and assisting with the receiving and organization of deliveries. Additionally, you may be called upon to support medical gas management. This position requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication with clinical staff. Prior experience in hospital materials management, supply chain, or logistics is highly advantageous, as is familiarity with inventory systems and handheld scanning devices. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of lifting and moving supplies to support daily operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Materials Distribution Management team as a HOSP AST 2 PD. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of hospital supply chain processes. Your responsibilities will include delivering supplies to patient care areas, restocking essential items, and managing inventory to support clinical and non-clinical departments. With a focus on detail and a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with clinical staff to meet their supply needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

  • High School graduation and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Previous experience in hospital materials management, supply chain, or logistics is preferred.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, such as Oracle, is an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clinical staff and colleagues.

  • Physical ability to lift and move supplies, with a commitment to supporting daily operational needs.

  • Proficiency in using handheld scanning devices and willingness to learn new inventory management tools.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to handle changing priorities and work demands.
