Cashier / Barista — Pit Stop Cafe
About the Role
Country Waffles management is expanding! Pit Stop Cafe is a newly opened, Proudly Pouring Peet's Coffee location inside a car dealership in Livermore. We're in our early days and building something — if you like being part of a small operation from the ground up rather than a cog in a large chain, this is a good fit.
The pace is relaxed and conversational. You'll get to know your regulars, work independently, and take real ownership of your shift. Personality matters here — our customers are dealership staff and guests, and a warm, upbeat presence makes a real difference in their experience.
Responsibilities
  • Greet every customer with a cheerful, welcoming attitude
  • Take orders and guide customers through the menu — make recommendations, suggest add-ons, and look for natural opportunities to upsell
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks, lattes, frappés, matcha, chai, and cold brew
  • Prepare made-to-order food items including breakfast bowls, egg sliders, and avocado toast; heat-and-serve items using microwave and warming oven
  • Operate the Toast POS system — take orders, process payments, record order details accurately
  • Keep the café clean and presentable at all times — equipment, counters, floors, and the overall customer-facing space — not just your immediate work area
  • Restock supplies and flag inventory needs to the owner/manager

Qualifications
  • Outgoing, friendly personality — this is a front-facing role and attitude matters as much as skill
  • Customer service experience preferred; café or food service background a plus
  • Comfortable suggesting items and upselling naturally without being pushy
  • Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Comfortable learning café equipment — we provide training
  • Reliable and punctual — showing up consistently is essential
  • Professional demeanor; you'll be representing a licensed Peet's Coffee brand inside an active dealership
  • Able to stand for the duration of a shift and work in a compact space

Schedule & Compensation
  • Part-time: Monday–Saturday, 7 AM–12 PM
  • Hours will expand as we grow into lunch service — opportunity to take on more as the café builds
  • California minimum wage + tips
  • Employee discount on all café purchases
