Material Handler
A Material Handler at Huhtamaki is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, and supplying raw materials and finished products throughout the manufacturing facility to support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, move, and store raw materials and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Supply production lines with materials to maintain continuous manufacturing operations.
- Transport finished products to warehouse or shipping areas.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records using scanners or warehouse systems.
- Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies or quality concerns.
- Prepare products for shipping by labeling, wrapping, and staging pallets.
- Follow all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and production area using 5S principles.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Basic computer and inventory system skills are helpful.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
This role ensures that production lines receive materials on time, inventory remains accurate, and finished products are safely moved and prepared for shipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
