Job Summary
UPS is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual to join our Atlanta based Sustainability team. If this sounds like your ideal opportunity, we want to hear from you!
The UPS Sustainability team is responsible for developing the strategy of and executing initiatives to enable the decarbonization of UPS' global operations. The team works cross-functionally to design and execute greenhouse gas reduction solutions across all business units and modes of transportation, as well as to design customer-facing sustainable logistic products. We leverage the power of data to manage and measure the progress of our initiatives, meet voluntary and regulatory disclosures, and enable analysis to make sound, financially prudent recommendations.
This role will focus on measuring and validating carbon emissions, evaluating and executing enhancements to data management processes, including through the use of tools like PowerBI, Google Cloud Platform, and AI, and supporting compliance with voluntary and regulatory standards. As a key member of the team, you will bring UPS into a brighter, more sustainable future.
This is a 40-hour per week, hybrid position based out of our Atlanta, GA headquarters. This is an independent contributor position.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support the collection, validation, and reporting of sustainability data, ensuring compliance with relevant voluntary and regulatory standards, including but not limited to GRI, CSRD, CDP, CSDDD, and ISSB.
  • Support the evaluation of data and system controls, working with data source owners to design, document, and implement controls throughout the sustainability reporting process.
  • Analyzes and summarizes data to offer insight to upper-level management.
  • Support the development, testing, and review of reports to track the impact of decarbonization initiatives and progress towards organizational sustainability goals.
  • Work with stakeholders to document, test, and validate sustainability data, and support collaboration with internal and external auditors during assurance processes.
  • Support the research and development of analyses to uncover opportunities, mitigate risk, and guide our strategy and decision making for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Support the development of roadmaps, business cases, and execution of cross-functional initiatives to reduce UPS' greenhouse gas emissions.

Preferred Skills, Experience and Educational Qualifications
  • Ability to manage multiple, large data sets to develop insights.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build complex models, understand financial statements, develop business cases, and develop other decision support tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using analytical software tools such as Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., GCP BigQuery, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices.
  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and support project teams.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal).
  • Team player who can work cross-functionally to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • General knowledge of sustainability disclosures and reporting environment globally.
  • Foundational understanding of Generative AI and Agentic AI.
  • Financial aptitude including the understanding of F&A concepts and experience working with the General Ledger (GL) and Financial Data Mart (FDM).
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Sustainability, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics, Finance.
  • Master's degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • Promotes a positive image of the company.
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or graduated from a degreed college/university program within the last 24 months
