Job description

Bergen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct positions in the Physics department for Fall and Winter 2026.

Physical Sciences Department:

The department of physical sciences at Bergen Community College serves the scientific interests of students through excellence in course offerings and effective teaching techniques to communicate scientific knowledge that meets student needs for today and paves the way to tomorrow. Application of scientific knowledge is encouraged to support the professional development of science majors and to enable non-science majors to make informed decisions based on scientific fact, leading to better educated citizens and consumers, as well as instilling a desire for life-long learning. The department of physical sciences supports Bergen’s assessment activities, the Emil Buehler Trust Observatory, professional symposia and meetings, several campus clubs, the Learning in Retirement program, and other community efforts.

Courses and Requirements:

Physics
Required: Masters’ degree in Physics, Engineering or related field; at least one year of college level teaching experience.

Rates and Benefits:

  • Adjunct rates is $960 a credit for adjuncts with a Masters.
  • Tuition Waiver for BCC courses for themselves or their dependents
  • ABP and 403b
