Job Summary

This position is considered a Project Management Subject Matter Expert and may be called on to provide expert advice and mentoring to other projects and PM's. It supports and manages projects that are typically at the $100M level. The role focuses on cost and schedule objectives while ensuring safety, quality, and risk management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Defines the project organization structure and identifies skills required.
  • Coordinates with functional departments to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Oversees team activities and navigates Entergy Stage Gate process.
  • Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Implements project controls for scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts, and communications.
  • Acts as Contract Manager or Owner’s Representative, administrating contract and communications.
  • Promotes safe behavior and ensures safety requirements in contract scope.
  • Monitors contractor performance in safety, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual compliance.
  • Identifies and addresses project issues that could impact performance.
  • Provides timely project status reports and presentations.
  • Delivers projects with cost and schedule certainty, managing risks.
  • Turns over completed equipment/systems to the owner with necessary documentation, training, and instructions.
  • Works in both office and field conditions.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field OR 4 years equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA, Masters in Engineering, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Subject Matter Expert in project and construction management fundamentals and complex problem resolutions.
    • Knowledge of engineering science and technology for transmission lines and substations.
    • Strong safety performance record and commitment to safer workplace.
    • Supervisory experience with direct reports or in a matrix organization.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
    • Understanding of industry best practices and effective estimating practices.
    • Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership, team performance, service mindset and trusted advisor capability.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
