The Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education at Morehouse
College invites applications for a Visiting Professor position In Kinesiology to begin
August 1, 2026, for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will help advance Morehouse College's mission through teaching. scholarship, and service. The individual hired will be expected to teach full-time (3-3 load) in Kinesiology, with general education courses. Additional responsibilities may include advising and mentoring students majoring in Kinesiology, Sports Studies. and Physical Education, contributing to engaging in scholarly work and institutional service. Dr. Claude P. Hutto, Sr. Dean of the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies, will serve as Chair of the Search Committee.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Kinesiology or a closely related field.
Ph. D. candidates with a masters in Kinesiology will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
Evidence of an emerging or established scholarly research agenda in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related fields.
Commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Kinesiology.

Teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology and related areas such as Programs in Health Education, Methods of Teaching Health and Physical Education in Preschool and Elementary, Online Wellness, Organization and Administration of Health, Methods of Teaching HPED in Secondary Physical Education, and Adapted Physical Education Programs.
Teach general education courses as assigned by the department and in alignment with the College's core curriculum.
Contribute to institutional initiatives in general education and experiential learning.
Support the College's mission to develop men with disciplined minds who will lead lives of leadership and service.
