Job description

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

This position is best suited for candidates with experience supporting payroll and benefits administration who enjoy working with detailed information, HR systems, and process accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare audit, and validate payroll information to support accurate weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing by the Corporate Payroll team.
  • Review time records, employee changes, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments before submission to Corporate Payroll.
  • Input employee information into payroll system to include tax information, taxable benefits, etc.
  • Researches, analyzes and resolves payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies, problems or questions
  • Compiles payroll reports for internal use
  • Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
  • Set up and maintain employee personnel, insurance, and benefit files.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees.
  • Work in HR records system to make approved changes to employees' records based on Employee Status Change forms and Separation notices.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, withdrawals and terminations.
  • Counsel employees with problems or concerns and attempt solutions or resolutions as needed.
  • Coordinate the activities associated with administering KNA's Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Coordinate the activities associated with payroll garnishments for child support service notices and to include providing notification to affected employee and preparation of required paperwork.
  • Maintain and update pay progression rates for hourly employees as needed.
  • Work in HR records system to make approved changes to employees' records based on Employee Status Change forms and Separation notices.
  • Coordinate and process employee health insurance claims for new, late and terminated enrollees.
  • Assist employees with inquiries regarding benefits, insurance, and other employment-related concerns.
  • Process and track Leave of Absences for KNA employees.
  • Manage employee benefit enrollment and termination and assist in benefits administration.
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or equivalent, preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources

Skills:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • HRIS experience, Dayforce preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. Some of the work may be performed in a plant environment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
