We are seeking a Director of Investor Relations to join our team in Overland Park, KS. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this strategic leadership role serves as the primary liaison between Compass Minerals and the investment community. The ideal candidate will lead the company's investor relations strategy, communicate financial and operational performance, and help shape the external narrative that supports long-term shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities
Earnings Cycle
  • Manage all components, including the press release, call script, investor presentation, and Q&A preparation.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Accounting on the financial narrative and coordinate with Legal on disclosures.
  • Responsible for quarterly call logistics-from the webcast platform through post-call analyst follow-up.

Investor and Analyst Relations/Engagement
  • Develop and execute the company's investor relations strategy aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for analysts, sell-side and institutional investors, as well as lead the planning and execution of investor site visits and analyst days.
  • Field inbound inquiries, manage conferences and investor roadshows, support public disclosures and proactively conduct outreach to expand shareholder base.
  • Communicate financial performance, operational results and strategic priorities clearly and consistently.
  • Prepare earnings materials, investor presentations, annual reports and conference messaging.
  • Monitor market sentiment, analyst coverage and peer performance within the mining sector.

Market Intelligence
  • Track consensus estimates and monitor analyst models for misperceptions.
  • Prepare shareholder composition reporting, peer company analysis and forward recommendations.

Disclosure and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory disclosure requirements.
  • Partner with Legal and Accounting on external disclosures, including SEC filings and proxy materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining current content on the IR section of the company website as well as managing vendor relationships (e.g., webcast platform and stock surveillance service).

Internal Partnership
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to understand salt and sulfate of potash (SOP) markets and stay current on production performance.
  • Work with CFO and CEO to ensure external narrative accurately reflects the business.
  • Manage rating agency interactions.
  • Periodic site visits to mining operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in Investor Relations, FP&A, or corporate finance with a publicly traded company
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and public company disclosure requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial and operational results into compelling investor messaging
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for investor meetings, conferences, and company events

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree
  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, industrial, or natural resources industries
  • Background in FP&A or Controllership
  • Experience with Workiva, S&P Capital IQ (CapIQ), or other investor relations platforms
  • NIRI membership or Investor Relations Charter (IRC) designation

Physical Requirements
This position is primarily office-based and requires regular use of computers and standard office equipment. Occasional travel is required.
