Position Summary:
Responsible for administering aerobic and other exercise programs with patients with cardiovascular disorders in collaboration and conjunction with RN's to enhance quality of life, manage health risk, and promote lasting health behavior change. Evaluate orthopedic problems and assess individual exercise potential. The exercise scientist performs maximal and submaximal exercise tests, develops and administer programs designed to enhance aerobic endurance, cardiovascular function, muscular strength, endurance and balance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Sports Medicine required.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Clinical Exercise Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or be a Registered Exercise Physiologist. Currently certified in BLS or completion during the first three months of employment. Arrhythmia interpretation required.
Experience: Experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred, but not required.
