At our rapidly growing practice, Midwest Cardiovascular Institute (MCI) we are seeking a highly motivated Exercise Physiologist to join our team! As the Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for helping the team deliver safe, age-appropriate patient care as part of the team. You will work collaboratively with the RNs, RDs and MDs to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care.

Specific Duties:
  • Perform and monitor exercise cardiac stress tests under the direction of the physician/provider.
  • Prepare patients for testing, explain procedures, and review appropriate pre-test instructions.
  • Obtain and monitor EKGs, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other vital signs during testing.
  • Recognize and promptly communicate abnormal EKG/rhythm findings, symptoms, or changes in patient condition to the physician/provider.
  • Follow established stress-testing protocols and appropriately modify or discontinue testing based on patient response and physician direction.
  • Monitor patients during exercise and recovery and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition within scope of practice.
  • Accurately document patient information, test results, vital signs, EKG findings, and exercise response.
  • Assist physicians and cardiovascular team members with stress testing and related procedures.
  • Maintain testing equipment, supplies, and a safe and organized testing environment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Cardiac stress testing, cardiac rehabilitation, or cardiovascular experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
  • Knowledge of EKG monitoring, exercise physiology, and cardiovascular stress-testing protocols.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a cardiovascular team and under physician/provider direction.
Compensation: Pay starting at $27.00
Location: You will work out of the Hinsdale office, 333 W Chestnut St., Suite 100, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
This position is Monday through Friday, 8AM-4:30PM.
