Exercise Physiologist

GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from qualified Exercise Physiologists for a future opportunity supporting the Human Performance (VIPER II) program at Joint Base San Antonio.

This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award.

About the Opportunity

Join an interdisciplinary Human Performance team dedicated to optimizing the health, fitness, and readiness of Air Force trainees. As an Exercise Physiologist, you'll work alongside Sports Medicine Physicians, Athletic Trainers, and Human Performance professionals to assess physical performance, develop evidence-based conditioning programs, conduct running gait analysis, and implement injury prevention initiatives that directly support military readiness.

Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Monday-Friday
  • Typical duty hours: 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Schedule may vary based on mission requirements
  • Up to 10 consecutive hours per day (including a one-hour lunch)
  • Maximum 40 hours per week
  • No routine on-call
  • Federal holidays observed (excluding AETC Family Days)
Responsibilities
  • Conduct fitness assessments and functional movement evaluations.
  • Develop individualized exercise prescriptions and rehabilitation fitness programs.
  • Perform running gait analysis and provide gait retraining.
  • Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for large group settings.
  • Educate trainees on injury prevention, physical performance, and exercise techniques.
  • Conduct health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and administrative records.
  • Collaborate with Sports Medicine Physicians and Athletic Trainers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives and Human Performance projects.
  • Support physical training events and other mission-related activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification through ACSM
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach or Exercise Physiologist following graduation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing running gait analysis and gait retraining
  • Military, tactical, collegiate, or sports performance experience
  • Experience developing strength and conditioning programs
  • Experience working with large group fitness programs
  • Experience supporting injury prevention initiatives
