Pay Range: $29.75 - $40.30 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Medical Director and Program Director, the Exercise Physiologist contributes expertise as a member of the multidisciplinary team to offer comprehensive treatment strategies that will bring about a positive outcome to the participant and the Joel Opatut Cardiopulmonary Program. Designs and implements individualized exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation participants. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e.damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, unsecured areas, medical errors, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related specialized degree.
  • 6–12 months experience in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • A Master's Degree or certificate is preferred.
  • Current ACLS & BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem Scheduling

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the initial assessment and orientation of new patients.
  • Performs fitness assessments, re-evaluations as well as monitors compliance with the program.
  • Assists in the development of the plan of care and demonstrates understanding of the theory of health behavior change.
  • Develops and titrates exercise prescription & supervises exercise sessions and patient responses to exercise.
  • Monitors patients on the exercise floor to assure safe, effective and proper use of equipment.
  • Participates in the collection, analysis and reporting of identified individual patient outcomes as well as the program outcomes.
  • Participates in ongoing education in the field of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation through conferences, in services and journals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the department.
