SUMMARY: Responsible for actively promoting and selling North Shore Bank products and services. Acts as the Bank's personal representative with its customers, providing efficient, accurate and friendly service; builds strong relationships between the customer and the Bank. Some Tellers are assigned as Area Tellers; staff in these roles are assigned a number of branch locations to support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: North Shore Bank's Position Descriptions are intended to describe only the major responsibilities of the job. You may be expected to perform other duties specified by your manager. Everyone is expected to contribute whatever efforts necessary to operate efficiently and effectively to insure the success of North Shore Bank.
SERVICE/SALES
• Consistently performs North Shore Bank Quality of Services standards with both external and internal customers that meets expectations and promotes customer willingness to keep, expand and refer banking relationships with North Shore Bank.
• Engages customers in meaningful conversations and asks questions to identify cross-selling opportunities; makes appropriate blend of qualified referrals to branch personnel and branch business partners on a consistent basis to meet goals as communicated by Branch Administration.
• Uses customer relationship management tool to record referrals and update customer contacts.
• Receives and answers questions from prospects or customers and maintains good customer relations; directs customers to proper employees for answers to more complex problems and inquiries. Follows up to ensure problems and concerns are resolved satisfactorily.
• Makes outbound telephone calls as directed by branch management for service and sales opportunities.
• May perform deposit account maintenance; responds to the customers in a prompt and courteous manner; ensures required forms are completed accurately and that the customer fully understands the terms and conditions of the accounts; ensures the customer receives the proper disclosures.
• Keeps current with products, services, and promotions.
• Actively participates in sales, product knowledge, and service meetings. This includes monthly sales planning sessions and completing a monthly plan to achieve the individual goals which have been set by management.
• Provides timely follow-up to clients by telephone, written correspondence, or personal contact.
OPERATIONS
• Serves the customer in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner through prompt and accurate handling of all teller transactions. Monitors own work for quality and quantity.
• Accurately maintains and protects a cash drawer, balances transactions daily, reconciles errors/discrepancies and reports variances to a supervisor.
• Accurately follows bank procedures for scanning and submitting teller work.
• Keeps current with Security Alerts as well as all updates to policies and procedures.
• Assists with daily operations fixed activities in collaboration with Lead Teller or performs duties in the absence of a Lead Teller. May perform open/close branch duties and any other operational duties as assigned.
• May be required to complete customer files, documentation, and paperwork. Provides documentation/paperwork support to all branch areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of related experience is required. Related experience includes a combination of cash handling, direct customer service, and retail or other sales. Must have availability to work on Saturdays. Position starts at $17.50/hr. DOE.
