Job Description

The Veterinary Medical Information and Product Support (VMIPS) Team is a contact centre environment, responsible for maintaining the regulatory integrity of our growing portfolio through providing outstanding customer service to our callers. Our major veterinary therapeutic areas include: anti-infectives, biologics, parasiticides, inflammation, analgesia, anaesthesia/sedation, oncology, dermatology and diagnostics. We focus on maximizing the value of our broad veterinary solutions portfolio by building and sustaining relevant partnerships with veterinarians and pet owners.ย 


Major Purpose-

The role of the Data Entry Technician is to:

Document product experiences, including technical questions and adverse events, involving products and their associated disease conditions in accordance with the guidelines

Assure that tracking and reporting of alleged adverse events of products complies with current pharmacovigilance requirements and standardsย 


Job duties-

Complete documentation of VMIPS cases related to products within the pharmacovigilance database by the population of appropriate fields and ensure approval

Ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are followed that maintain consistency and accuracy in data entry, medical investigations, responses to inquiries and complaints, follow-up and the use of the pharmacovigilance database

Document all reports accurately and according to specified guidelines; determine reportability in accordance to Regulatory guidelines; ensure reporting within regulatory agency timelines

Maintain proficient use of the pharmacovigilance database

Maintain thorough knowledge of all product guarantee programs

Maintain knowledge of VMIPS processes and pertinent working practices

Maintain knowledge of all companion animal products to understand indications and disease states

Ensure visibility of cases with potential legal or public relations sensitivity

As a certified technician, maintain familiarity with veterinary practice operations and terminology to maximize one's ability to relate to situations encountered by external customers and perform responsibilities of role

Participate in and complete all training, product certification and personal development opportunities

Contribute to team meetings and proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities

Communicate to Team Lead training and educational resource needs

Ensure a close and cohesively workflow with VMIPS Product Support Associates, Companion Animal Veterinarians and Livestock Veterinarians

Fully comply with all regulations, laws and Codes of Conduct, all privacy and data guidelines and relevant state and federal laws and regulations

Other duties as assigned by the manager

Leads self by organizing responsibilities, activities and information to create an action plan designated to achieve objectives

Assesses and prioritizes tasks, projects and objectives

Sets clear, attainable objectives and goals

Manages and prioritizes own work, and the input of others when appropriate, to meet daily goals and short-term deliverables

Consistently incorporates high ethical standards when interacting with internal and external stakeholdersย 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferably in Animal Science or science discipline or certification in Animal Health Technology

Minimum of 5 years of clinical, industry or academic experience

Excellent organizational skills, with a detail oriented approach

Experience and competence in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office

Prior call centre experience preferred

Experience with pharmacovigilance and/or experience with industry regulatory obligations

Active Pennsylvania license (in good standing) in animal heath technology
