Job Summary

The Market Intelligence team at Acuity Brands delivers data-driven insights to guide business decisions and inform long-term strategy across the organization.
This Market Intelligence Manager will focus on the Acuity Intelligent Spaces (AIS) segment, reporting to the Senior Director of Market Intelligence. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining market models, analyzing internal and external data, and translating findings into actionable business insights. The Manager will serve as a strategic thought partner, regularly collaborating with Sales, Product Management, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support decision-making and opportunity assessment.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Independently lead market research projects by using both qualitative and quantitative research to produce a clear perspective of topics such as market size, market structure, and key trends.
  • Apply structured analysis techniques to translate raw data into actionable recommendations that support product and business strategy.
  • Serve as a thought partner to internal teams by delivering market and competitive intelligence that informs planning and prioritization.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, product offerings, and market positioning. Provide regular updates and and distill findings into concise summaries for stakeholder consumption.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert on market dynamics, providing context and foresight during annual and long-range planning discussions.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and dashboards that distill complex insights into clear narratives for business audiences.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering, or other relevant degree.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience aligning stakeholders from Sales, Product, Finance, and Executive Leadership. 
  • Ability to translate market trends into strategic insights and business recommendations. 
  • Proficiency in applying analytical frameworks to derive insights from imperfect or incomplete data sources. 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to tailor insights to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders. 
  • Experience in both qualitative (e.g., interviews, focus groups) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, statistical analysis) research techniques.
  • Strong Excel skills required. Experience with SQL, R, Python, or similar tools a plus.
  • Skilled in data visualization and storytelling, with proficiency in Power BI and PowerPoint to create clear, engaging deliverables.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the HVAC, Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), Building Automation, or related industry experience required.
  • 5+ years in market intelligence, competitive analysis, corporate startegy, consulting, or a related field. 

The range for this position is $150,900.00 to $271,600.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
