Overview
The Strategic Communications Manager leads the execution and operationalization of integrated communications strategies in partnership with the Director, in support of Beebe Healthcare's strategic priorities. This role is responsible for managing media relations, overseeing internal communications, and aligning digital content to ensure consistent, effective, and data-driven messaging across all channels.
Working in close partnership with the Director, the Manager translates strategic direction into actionable plans, leads day-to-day operations of the communications function, and ensures high-quality execution across the team.
The Manager serves as a key partner to organizational leaders and collaborates closely with Communications and Marketing teams to strengthen engagement, enhance reputation, and advance Beebe's mission and brand.
Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Planning
  • Partner with the Director to support the development of integrated communications strategies aligned with organizational priorities
  • Lead implementation of integrated communications plans, ensuring alignment across channels and proactively identifying communication needs in partnership with leadership
  • Track and report on communications performance metrics to inform improvements and decision-making

Media & Public Relations
  • Lead day-to-day media relations, including managing inquiries, pitching stories, and maintaining press relationships
  • Serve as primary media contact for events and organizational announcements
  • Provide communications counsel to senior leadership on sensitive or high-profile issues in partnership with the Director
  • Serve as Public Information Officer (PIO) or backup PIO during emergency management situations
  • Support crisis communications planning and execution under the direction of the Director, ensuring timely and coordinated responses
  • Assist in preparing leadership and subject matter experts for media interactions

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Support proactive storytelling efforts to strengthen brand reputation and community presence
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and professional development for Communications Coordinators (Internal and Digital)
  • Set priorities, manage workflow, and ensure high-quality execution across the team
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment
  • Partner with Marketing, Community Engagement, and service line leaders to support integrated communications efforts

Internal Communications
  • Lead execution of internal communications plans, ensuring consistent, timely, and relevant messaging to employees
  • Partner with Human Resources, Organizational Development, and system leaders to support organizational initiatives
  • Support efforts to improve employee engagement, transparency, and access to information

Digital & Content Oversight
  • Content creation is a shared responsibility across the team, with this role providing oversight, refinement, and alignment with strategic priorities
  • Oversee content strategy and alignment across digital platforms, including social media, email communications, and reputation management
  • Ensure consistency with brand standards and alignment with marketing campaigns
  • Guide content development to support storytelling, engagement, and strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to development of high-priority or complex messaging as needed

Additional
  • Provide strategic input on multimedia storytelling, including video and campaign support
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and elevate patient and organizational stories
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and represent the communications function in day-to-day collaboration with internal partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Three to five years of experience with a primary focus on marketing, communications, and public relations, with a preference on healthcare organization experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success in media relations, internal communications, and content strategy
  • Experience using analytics to inform and evaluate communications strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
