The BIW Welding Automation Capital Equipment Senior Buyer position, is part of the Global Indirect Purchasing department. The BIW commodity includes all tooling and equipment for the Body Welding Centers in the automotive assembly plants. The Senior Buyer will manage all the commercial aspects of the equipment purchases and strategically collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering at Stellantis to define commodity strategies and source programs. The successful candidate will develop and present materials and data to all levels of senior management up to and including Senior Vice Presidents. The candidate will track program changes to ensure overall spend is within budgeted approval levels. He/she will manage all aspects of the supplier relationship, including contract maintenance, achievement of annual cost savings targets, and development of supplier/commodity strategies. This role will also support the various process and procedures of the Indirect Purchasing department, while driving improvements to the organization and improving efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multi-task; have excellent time management skills and the ability to set priorities independently. This position requires strong leadership, ability to work at a fast pace, and effectively communicate to upper management. This position is part of a Global matrix organization and currently reports to the Head of BIW Welding Automation Capex Purchasing in Italy.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field or strong business skills and a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial or technical business experience (for example purchasing, finance, logistics, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing etc. )
  • Self-motivated / sense of ownership
  • Strong communication and customer focus
  • Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt
  • Strong use of MS Office suite
  • Capable of working in a global matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • CapEx Purchasing experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience
