Job Details:
The School of Medicine on the Macon, Georgia campus is searching for a Post Doctoral Fellow.
Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Fellow's primary duties will involve having an indepth knowledge of lab procedures and understanding the importance of safety protocols. This will include proper preparation of research samples for analysis, data analysis, record keeping, maintaining equipment, cleaning equipment, providing technical support, monitoring supplies, performing end of day procedures, etc. This Postdoctoral Fellow also needs to be an effective technical communicator when interacting with the Principal Investigator (Pl) and other laboratory personnel. The incumbent is expected to work well independently and collaboratively as part of the Pl's lab team. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work directly with undergraduate, medical and Masters students to ensure proper use of equipment and experimental protocols.
Qualifications:
A PhD degree from an accredited college/university in molecular biology, microbiology, or closely related field is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to complete complex calculations to prepare for experiments.
  • Ability to record data measurements and maintain organized records.
  • Possesses knowledge of aseptic techniques.

This position is contingent on external funding and the length of employment in this position is dependent on continuation of these funds.
