Job description

Job Description Inventory and Production Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Inventory and Production Specialist to support the end-to-end production lifecycle and inventory management workflows. This position is instrumental in bridging manufacturing activity with ERP system accuracy (NetSuite) and supports critical business decisions through process optimization, inventory accuracy, and cost control. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for monitoring production throughput, maintaining accurate inventory data, supporting quality control transitions, and producing actionable reporting to support short- and long-term production planning.

The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, Excel-proficient, and comfortable navigating both structured ERP environments and semi-manual workflows. Daily Activities Monitor par levels and work order status in NetSuite and MasterControl to identify finished goods ready for transfer or new work order generation. Coordinate with the Quality team to label and release inventory based on lot-specific manufacturing status.

Validate daily work orders created by upstream departments for completeness and alignment with MasterControl records. Weekly Activities Replicate the prior week's production activity into a structured Excel tracker sourced from MasterControl. Maintain and update the production planning template to inform forecasted manufacturing needs.

Flag discrepancies or trends in production volume for cross-functional review. Monthly Activities Review and release manufacturing lots in NetSuite by converting them into assembly builds. Calculate and validate monthly labor and overhead absorption rates using payroll reports and pre-built NetSuite saved searches.

Conduct QA checks on 100+ work orders to validate lot consumption, labor hours, and bill of materials accuracy; apply inventory adjustments as needed. Create and review monthly inventory adjustments to ensure accurate COGS and margin reporting. Confirm application of quality team discard forms in NetSuite.

Quarterly Activities Lead and coordinate quarterly physical inventory counts in collaboration with warehouse teams. Utilize custom-built Excel templates and NetSuite searches to reconcile system vs. physical inventory across all locations.

Generate and post inventory adjustments based on quarter-end reconciliations. Archive and document quarterly count results for audit and compliance purposes. Requirements Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.

2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, inventory, or ERP-heavy environment. Proficient in NetSuite, with familiarity in MasterControl preferred. Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, dynamic formulas); knowledge of template design and automation is a plus.

Analytical mindset with the ability to identify outliers and system discrepancies proactively. Comfortable navigating complex workflows and collaborating with cross-functional departments (Quality, Manufacturing, Finance). Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus / Nice to Have Experience with NetSuite scripting or automation via REST APIs. Familiarity with inventory costing methodologies (FIFO/LIFO, standard costing). Exposure to GMP-regulated environments or life sciences is a plus.
