Responsibilities

The CNC Programmer/Machinist position is part of the Machine Department Team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs used to manufacture precision components. This role supports production by ensuring programs are accurate, efficient, and compliant with engineering and quality requirements. The CNC Programmer works closely with machinists, manufacturing engineers, and quality personnel to troubleshoot issues, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and/or multi-axis machines

Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to generate accurate programs

Create and optimize programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam or similar)

Support machine setup, prove-out, and first-article inspections

Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling paths, and cycle times to improve efficiency and quality

Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in collaboration with production and quality teams

Maintain program documentation and revision control

Assist with tooling selection, fixtures, offsets, and setup sheets as needed

Support new product introductions and engineering changes

Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing standards

Verifies conformance of finished work piece(s) to specifications using various measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers

Loads and unloads parts, operating multiple machines as needed

Stays on task and ensures current day scheduled work is completed on time

Performs other duties as assigned

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred

3+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T

Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Haas, Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens, or similar)

Familiar with Okuma & ProtoTRAK (preferred)

Working knowledge of machining processes, materials, and cutting tools

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively with machinists, engineers, and quality teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX)

Experience with multi-axis machining, mill/turn, or live tooling

Background in regulated, aerospace, medical, or precision manufacturing environments

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required

Use of standard PPE as required by company policy
