Job Title:Research TechnicianDepartment:FAES | Entomology

The Dr. Kayla Perry Lab, within the Department of Entomology and Dr. Chris Ranger Lab of the USDA, are seeking a temporary research technician to assist with lab and field work for approximately 40 hours/week thru December 31, 2026.


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our analytical laboratory team. This role focuses on processing diverse plant tissue samples and following extraction protocols for preparing extracts to permit the detection and quantification of insecticides by UPLC-MS/MS. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundational background in laboratory skills, analytical chemistry, master's level laboratory experience, and a strict adherence to quality control standards. The candidate will handle tissue macerating equipment, benchtop mixers, and centrifuges.


This position is based in Wooster, Ohio, on the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Wooster campus, in the Wooster Science Building.


Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in relevant field, laboratory and sample processing experience.
