Job description


The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to ensure customer demand, inventory targets, and operational capacity requirements are met. This role serves as a critical link between Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to balance supply and demand while driving inventory optimization and service level performance.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Develop, maintain and manage the Master Production schedule (MPS) to support business objectives and sales requirements.
  • Collaborates with plant leadership, engineering, production planning, sourcing and others to develop capacity plans to ensure MPS can be executed. Identifies additional capacity needed, helps drive make/buy decisions, or overtime needs as necessary.
  • Monitor Schedule adherence and identify risks to the plan, constraints and capacity issues. Works with the appropriate production owner or vendor to drive remedial action.
  • Perform scenario analysis and provide recommendations to address supply shortages, excess inventory and make/buy decisions.
  • Track and report key performance metrics including schedule attainment, excess and obsolete inventory and other Supply Chain performance metrics.
  • Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes through planning analysis and reporting.

Who You Are:
You use your data analysis and critical thinking skills to develop and maintain an achievable production schedule that balances customer demand, capacity, inventory, and service objectives. You take ownership of schedule performance by identifying risks, resolving supply-demand imbalances, and implementing sustainable solutions that support business objectives. You build collaborative relationships across Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement and Finance to ensure alignment and execution. You have a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment within the organization without direct authority and are comfortable operating in situations with incomplete information.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of Supply Chain Planning, Production Planning, Master Scheduling or related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience with inventory optimization, capacity planning and S&OP.
  • Applied experience planning using ERP systems (JDE, Oracle, SAP).
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau or similar systems.
  • Experience collaborating in a plant environment.
